China Railway Intermodal Information Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “China Railway Intermodal”) and Shaanxi Heavy Duty Automobile Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “SHAC”) have signed a “1,000 Heavy-Duty Truck Strategic Cooperation Agreement.”
According to the strategic cooperation agreement, China Railway Intermodal and Shaanxi Heavy Duty Automobile will work together to focus on market demand, achieve breakthroughs in new technologies, develop new products, and elevate the level of modern logistics and transportation.
Chen Hongying, founder of China Railway Intermodal, explained that my country’s logistics industry has experienced rapid development in recent years, with container-based composite and multimodal transport becoming a major trend. The company hopes to collaborate with Shaanxi Heavy Duty Automobile in the development of specific vehicle models and workshop renovations to identify opportunities for growth.
Shaanxi Automobile Xinjiang Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Shaanxi Heavy Duty Automobile, will undertake the production for this cooperative venture. Established in the Economic Development Zone (Touhunhe District) in 2011, the company produced and sold 1,588 vehicles in the first half of 2025, an 11% year-on-year increase. Production and sales of new energy vehicles reached 403 units, a more than tenfold increase compared to the same period last year.
Currently, new energy heavy-duty trucks are widely used in various applications within Xinjiang, including steel mills, coal transportation, and short-haul transport.
As Xinjiang’s first automobile company to engage in complete vehicle production, Shaanxi Automobile Xinjiang Automobile Co., Ltd. has actively focused on innovation this year. By adopting large-capacity batteries, the company has increased the range of its new energy heavy-duty trucks by over 60%, marking a historic breakthrough in the company’s new energy vehicle production.
