SHACMAN vehicles have become an integral part of the dynamic landscape of this vibrant Caribbean island. On bustling construction sites, the powerful engines of dump trucks echo in the air; on coastal ring roads, tractor-trailers glide quickly and efficiently; in concrete plants and building sites, mixers work tirelessly and drums rotate in perfect rhythm. the SHACMAN team is anchored in this dynamic region and constantly listens to its customers’ feedback to provide tailor-made solutions to meet the unique demands of local working conditions.
‘Reinforcement of dump trucks reduces potential problems’
MA is a prominent local engineering firm that relies on 16 SHACMAN dump trucks for daily heavy-duty transportation of gravel and earth. During a recent customer visit and assessment, the SHACMAN team noticed that the dump trucks were experiencing slight localized deformation at the corners after prolonged high-pressure impacts. This prompted immediate intervention from SHACMAN’s frontline sales staff, who worked with technical engineers to further analyze the problem.
By simulating material fatigue curves in the challenging high temperature and high humidity environments of the Caribbean, engineers found that the thickness of the tipper floor plate was a major factor. Based on these findings, the SHACMAN team took the initiative to increase the thickness of the base plate to 10 mm, effectively eliminating the risk of damage and ensuring increased durability under demanding operating conditions”.
“Breaking the ‘spatial deadlock’ to drive powder transportation expansion”
TL is a long-time leader in transportation and logistics with more than 40 SHACMAN tractor-trailers. The company’s recent foray into powder transportation required the installation of powder tank pumps and filters on the vehicle chassis. However, the existing power take-off (PTO) and fuel tank configuration on the right-hand side of the vehicle created significant space constraints to properly install the filters. After exhausting compatible models on the market, TL turned to SHACMAN for a solution.
In response, the SHACMAN team quickly initiated a solution-oriented discussion. Utilizing the existing product configuration, SHACMAN’s technical engineers redesigned the chassis layout. The redesign included upgrading the gearbox to a newer model and custom development of a left-mounted PTO, in addition to prioritizing the optimization of fuel efficiency during PTO operation. The final model seamlessly integrates a powder tank pump, successfully supporting TL’s entry into powder transportation and setting new standards for innovation and adaptability.
